If there's one thing I learned about motherhood, it's the fact that breastfeeding is not as easy as it looks. No one really told me how difficult it could be to breastfeed a baby. You have to be mentally, emotionally, and physically prepared for this thing!
I've been suffering from sore and cracked nipples since the first day I started breastfeeding. I didn't know how to breastfeed and baby didn't know how to latch properly. And really, how do you teach a newborn to latch correctly anyway?!
I searched for tips and tricks on how to "cure" cracked and sore nipples. While the majority is saying that applying your own breastmilk on your nipples and let it air dry is the number 1 cure, I still felt the need to purchase a nipple cream made of Lanolin.
There are a lot of brands out there but I chose Lansing because it's bigger than most of the ones I've seen. It's also what the book What to Expect When You're Expecting recommends.
As per packaging, this is totally safe and hypoallergenic and doesn't need to be removed before breastfeeding - totally great cos I could be really lazy at times! It doesn't have any scent, too.
I've been using this for a month now and I'm really happy with it. I feel that it helped to alleviate my sore nipples. Baby doesn't seem to be allergic to the cream at all!
Lansinoh HPA Lanolin is available at Mothercare for Php829.00 and at Baby Mama fir Php650.00.
