I'm a huge liquid foundation user. I already have my HG liquid foundations but that doesn't stop me from trying new ones - especially if they are not locally available. It makes me want to try the product more actually!
I was watching Saaamage on YouTube a few months ago and she has a video on her first impression of Maybelline's new liquid foundation which is the Better Skin Foundation. After watching the video, I knew I gotta try it! Search for it, I did!
You might be wondering how I figured out my shade. Well, it's the reason why I watch Saaamage on YouTube. We're the same shade when it comes to liquid foundations. I usually use one shade darker than me and my skin tone plays in between NC30-35 (MAC reference) even though the rest of my skin is NC15. It's a strange skin tone affair, you guys.
Since Saaamage got the shade Natural Beige, I got that shade, too. After all, I have Maybelline's Fit Me Matte + Poreless liquid foundation in Natural Beige and it's a perfect match!
Upon swatching Superstay Better Skin in Natural Beige, I was like, "ooops!" it's darker than I imagined it! Whuuuut.
It's weird though cos both of these Maybelline liquid foundations are both Natural Beige and yet Better Skin is way darker than Fit Me.
I didn't give up though. I still tried it on my face cos it might actually blend like how Urban Decay's Naked Skin foundation blends on my face. So, here's a photo of my bare face.
And here's a photo of me wearing one layer of Superstay Better Skin Foundation. True, it does make my skin look better. As it turns out, Natural Beige blends on my skin.
Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation is supposed to make your skin literally better because it contains salicylic acid to prevent/lessen pimples. However, I've used this for one month straight and I still got that occasional zit so I can't say that it did make my face better. It has a semi-matte finish although you'll still need to set this with a setting powder. I tend to oil up after 6 hours of wearing it when I don't set it with a mattifying powder.
Overall, I still like this foundation because it feels light on my facial skin. One full pump is enough for my face. This works fine as an everyday liquid foundation. I mean, I wasn't expecting much from its claim anyway. And omg, can I just gush how it comes with a pump?! So convenient to use! Most of the liquid foundations from this brand doesn't come with a pump!
I pre-ordered this online for PhP600 - pretty expensive for a drugstore liquid foundation. Then again, I couldn't wait to try this so I gave in. Currently forgot where I got this but I'll update this as soon as I remember. Right now, it's now available at local Maybelline counters and I don't think it will be available here soon. So, if you see this at online shops, you better try it if you like Maybelline products!
