I feel like including makeup in subscription boxes is tres tres indispensable. That's why receiving a lipstick from the latest BDJ Box got me excited - more so if the bullet is somewhat reminiscent of a Chanel lipstick.
FS Cosmetics Luscious Lipstick in Primrose
I don't think I've tried an FS Cosmetics lipstick before and everyone seems excited about this, too. Ergo, I'm reviewing it already!
I was expecting that the shade would be a nude one. Or brown. I got a red lipstick instead. I had a lipstick before named Primrose but it's light pink with a lustre finish. This one from FS is matte so I assumed this has got to be opaque.
FS initials embossed on the lipstick. Win.
But gone in one swipe. Boo.
Swatched. One layer and it's a bit streaky.
I was surprised that this lipstick does not tug when I applied it on my lips despite being matte! Well, it's not bone dry matte. It feels more like a satin finish, actually, which my lips love in actuality. Applying this is a breeze. I don't even have to line my lips to get a good shape (you know that nasty thing that happens when your lips looks uneven because of a dark shade of lipstick, yes!).
One layer of Primrose on my lips.
My photos can't justify how nice this red shade is. It has a pink undertone making the red a bit toned down. Nonetheless, it can still brighten up your face as you can see from the photo above. No foundation. Just did my brows and applied lipstick.
Some cons though. I honestly do not think this is matte. This is satin. Having said that, expect a lot of transfer on your cup or anything your lip touches when you have this lipstick on. The staying power though is quite good. It only started to fade 3 ours after I applied this on my lips because I ate dinner. and since it's red, expect a nice just bitten stain on your lips.
FS Cosmetics Luscious lipstick retails for PhP299 and is available at all leading department stores nationwide. I got mine from the latest BDJ Box*.
