Liquid lipsticks are really in for the past 3 or 4 years now. It's not my usual cup of tea for the sole reason that it feels much like a lipgloss (except the matte liquid lipsticks). I didn't easily join the bandwagon.
When Digital Traincase released new products and brands, Sweetpea & Fay Cosmetics was one of them. What product in particular? Liquid lipsticks! I was like 'meh' but when they put it on sale last year, I decided to give it a try!
I actually forgot about this already because I misplaced that particular eco bag I used during the Supersale bazaar and these liquid lipsticks were in it. Found it recently when I was unpacking to pack.
I got two shades: Cannoli and Ranunculus. Cannoli is Nude Beige while Ranunculus is Nude Peach. I don't know where they got the names. It's sounds more weird than unique, IMHO.
Ranunculus on top. Cannoli at the bottom.
Ranunculus on my lips. One layer.
Cannoli on my lips. One layer.
Oh, gosh, Cannoli, anyare? Basing from the swatches, I thought I was going to like Cannoli better. But I couldn't seem to make it appear on my lips. Ranunculus is alright but it looks brighter. My iPhone can't capture the true colour of Ranunculus. But it's a pretty shade nonetheless.
This is a non-drying liquid lipstick because it's not matte. It's creamy and moisturising not to mention that it feels a tad wet - which goes back to the reason why I'm not a fan of non-matte liquid lipsticks - it's the opaque version of a lipgloss. Okay, fine, it's not entirely glossy. I'm just scared that this will run. What impressed me with this product though is that despite its being 'wet', it stayed on my lips for 4 hours. It started fading cos I was eating. I assume if I didn't eat on the 4th hour, it would've stayed longer. Regardless, I will not be repurchasing this product.
Sweetpea & Fay liquid lipstick is available at Digital Traincase [online and in their store]. Apologies as I do not remember the price of this product.
Follow me! No? Yes? Yey!
Interesting lipstick names, I agree!
ReplyDeleteSome names are weird. One of the shades is called Baluga
ReplyDeleteParang muntik nang maging scientific name! haha! For me naman, I like Ranunculus more than Cannoli. I am not a fan of lipgloss or liquid lipsticks because i don't like feeling something wet on my lips. At hindi ko pwedeng palampasin yun magandang ring sa magandang kamay! Haay ganda!
ReplyDeleteHih thanks :)
ReplyDeleteRanunclulus looks better on you Miss Gem since you look pale with Cannoli (reminds me of pasta by the way). I have not tried liquid lipsticks yet since I also am not fond of too glossy or liquidy products on my lips.
ReplyDeleteBTW, those rings are to die for! Every woman's dream =)
Yeh Ranunculus is the better choice between the two, for me haha :)
ReplyDeleteranunculus looks good on you ms. gem, even on the swatch, the color is pretty but the cannoli is naaaah! this reminded me of the occ lip tar but i'm not into liquid lippies, i only like those matte/opaque ones like the lime crime, mua luxe or the nyx. :)
ReplyDeleteBetter nga ang matte liquid lipsticks in general. Although, I like OCC lip tar. Not as sticky as this one :)
ReplyDeletecool. what is your fave shade?
ReplyDeleteParang may shimmer sa swatches mo sa hand mo. Ranunculus looks pretty on you. I thought yung cannoli ang maganda ksi ang ganda nya sa swatches. I have one occ lip tar in anime. Hanggang ngayon di ko pa natry gamitin. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteLove the Ranunculus it looks so natural and simple :)
ReplyDeleteSa ilaw lang siguro :)
ReplyDeleteYour too lovely for both shade, nude always matches your skin type :) ganda
ReplyDeleteI think pag tumatanda mas nagiging parti tlaga sa neutral shades :)
ReplyDeleteRanunculus looks good on you. I am still yet to find a nude lipstick that actually looks best on me. Inggit because nudes suit you so much. Hehe
