Preview x Happy Skin Collaboration

Happy Skin just keeps on surprising us! I'm still not over how gorgeous their Beauty in Bloom Collection is and now they released two new shades of their best-selling product!

To celebrate Preview's 20th anniversary, they have decided to collaborate with Happy Skin Cosmetics and came up with two limited edition (LE) of Shut Up & Kiss Me lipsticks. I'm not sure how long it was promoted before its release last June 1. I only found out about this collaboration over the weekend and could not contain my excitement. Last Sunday, I waited til midnight so I could order the lippies at Zalora. They also collaborated with Zalora so for the first week, these lippies will only be available thru this online shop. Order it there and slash Php100 off from its retail price of PhP1,099 for the set. I didn't get a discount because they only announced it yesterday afternoon. Boo.

Shut Up & Kiss Me lipstick in Too Cool and Hot Stuff

I didn't know what to expect about the shades cos there was no hint whatsoever. Or I probably didn't get the hint (except for the red one which was a given). I initially thought Too Cool was going to be a hot pink shade.

Kudos for the packaging. This is my fave among all collections!

Preview in Too Cool Cover.
Preview in Hot Stuff Cover is colour red.

Too Cool is the star above. Hot Stuff is the star below.

When I opened Too Cool, I thought it's a plain beige lipstick. It looks like it. I'm more than happy that this is is nude lipstick because I prefer this over Happy Skin's family shade of Pink. The shade is not totally nude though. There's a hint of pink once swatched and applied on the lips. I'm trying to remember if I have a lipstick similar to this but I'm spacing out right now. Too Cool can be worn alone as it doesn't wash out my already-pale face.

My Haggardo Versoza look.

Tried is as blush, too!

Hot Stuff is something of a vampy colour. First look and I thought it's similar to MAC Sin, MAC Diva, MAC Fixed on Drama and a cousin of NYX Siren and Mac Heaux or Rebel. But I reckon this is closest to MAC Sin. Guys, the photo below is just one swipe of the lipstick. It's pigmentation is making me nuts. Aaaaang gandaaaaa! Just make sure that you line your lips perfectly cos you wouldn't want crooked lips, right?

I'd say that among the collections of Happy Skin, this has got to be my favourite (lipstick wise). Although it's smart to release three per collection (consisting of nude, pink, and red), I always find myself liking the pink ones the least once all the lipsticks have grown on me. I reach out for the nudes/brown and the red ones from my Happy Skin lipstick stash.

Good job Happy Skin and Preview! Happy Anniverary, too! If you want to see more photos of this collaboration, the official hashtag is #PreviewXHappySkin. You can try #ImAPreviewGirl as well.

  9. I like them both. First, I thought Too Cool was going to look too pale, but it actually doesn't wash pale skin out. Hot Suff looks bold yet refined. Sad to say, I might have to pass on this collection for the time being. I have a lot of nude lipsticks that I still haven't worn. :(

  15. Both the Too Cool and Hot Stuff looks great! Since MAC's Fixed on Drama is a limited edition one, maybe if I won;t be too lucky to purchase them soon, I can just get Hot Stuff instead as soon as our budget allows it!
Super thanks for all these cool and detailed reviews. It just sucks coz my budget is tight nowadays so I cant buy those items that you've already reviewed just yet. Oh well, soon... Cheers Miss Gem! (^-^)

  18. Hi, I was thinking of buying Hot Stuff in the Beauty Bar website but I have a bunch of the lipsticks that you mentioned that are similar to it. Do you, by any chance have swatches to compare it with? - F

  19. I haven't taken a swatch comparison photo but I saw it on Instagram te other day that Hot Stuff is closest to MAC Diva. Almpst unnoticable :)

  20. oh.. ok.. I'm not a blogger or anything, but you might wanna credit the instagram post that you saw the comparison para merong basis. Just saying.

  21. I have all the lipsticks I've mentioned but I don't have swatches of them side by side. I think that was your first question. And i won't be able to swatch the others for comparison cos I just sold them. I just saw the post randomly on popular posts in Instagram the other day and I already forgot the username of that post. I'm not discrediting anything.
