MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme in Dirty Blonde

I told myself not to be fooled too much with MAC collection.  Most of the items are Limited Edition (LE) and chances are, if you liked something too much, you have to hoard right then and there.  I also experienced not hoarding and ending up loving the product too much but can't do anything about it because it's LE.

Le sigh.

When MAC released its brow set collection last year though, I knew I had to buy and test it out - not exactly hoard as I'm really bad at doing my brows.  When I got to MAC Rustan's Makati, I was dead set on buying the brow gel creme as it's one of a kind (IMO) but chickened out and settled for the brow powder duo.  But then, I couldn't sleep at night because I was thinking of the brow gel creme, so I went back the following day to buy it.

And boy oh boy, I did not regret buying it at all.  I actually regret not hoarding.

MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme in Dirty Blonde, PhP1,100

It comes in three shades - Readhead, Dirty Blonde, and Deep Dark Brunette.  I was considering on getting Deep Dark Brunette which is the darkest shade.  Good thing I asked the SA what would look good on my brows and he said it would have to be Dirty Blonde as it looks natural on the brows.  I followed his advice and settled with Dirty Blonde instead.  I was thinking whether I should get two pots but decided against it because I'm not that good in shaping/drawing my brows.  Spending PhP1,100 on a brow product I wasn't 100% sure that would work wasn't the smartest thing to do at that time.

Here's a swatch of Dirty Blonde at the back of my palm.  One is lined and the other is "filled in."  I thought, hey the swatch looks dark so how on earth is this going to look natural on my brows.  Trust me though, it doesn't look empowering when applied.  The swatch is darker than it seems on the pot though.

I wasn't able to take a photo of my brows when I first applied the Brow Gelcreme on my brows.  But here's a photo of me 12 hours later.  This was right before I took off my makeup.

Brows were still on point.  No fading.  Still intact.  I never experienced this with a brow powder of a different brand nor that ELF brow gel.  My brows are dark enough but it still has a natural look.  I love it.

The Gelcreme has the right amount of creaminess into it.  It's soft enough that you wouldn't have a hard time getting the product to transfer to your brush.  But it's dense enough to stay put on your brows the whole day.  It doesn't dry too fast so even if you make a mistake, you can just swipe it with a cotton bud and re-apply.

For the first few months that I've had this product, I'd say that a little goes a long way.  But now that I've had it more than a year (this was released last March 2013 in Manila), it's starting to dry up a little.  I feel as if I have to put more product on my brows.  It's actually fine with me though as I can't wait to hit pan.

The colour is buildable. So, if you want your brows lighter, then apply this sparingly.

I love this brow gel creme because it definitely put my skills into a test.  I draw and fill in my brows better now.  This is also probably the eyebrow product that made me appreciate my eyebrows to the highest level.  I've never given much love to my eyebrows before I tried product.

Great news though that MAC has finally decided to make this brow gel creme part of their permanent collection.  Now, I no longer need to hoard as I know it will easily be available at MAC counters.  But then again, when I visited MAC, Dirty Blonde is currently sold out.  But hey, as I've said, it's already part of their permanent collection so they'll stock up soon.

Have you tried this product from MAC? Let me know how you like it!
