It's All About Lips Monday

Finally, a post about lipstick on a Monday.  I know I said I was going to have a specific post on specific products on a certain day.  But I can't seem to follow it due to other posts that need to be published pronto.  I'm still pacing. Thanks for bearing with me.

Anyways.

If there is one popular makeup brand that I am not really familiar with, it would have to be Bobbi Brown.  I'm not sure what caused the delay as to why I'm such a late bloomer on this brand.  I've tried a couple of its products before and I loved it.  I just never got to the point of checking their counter frequently to buy this and that.

All of that changed though when I found out about their Uber Pink Collection.  Sure, I'm not a fan of Pink but when I saw the collection at Rustan's Makati, I was sold.  Their Pinks are very wearable!  I wanted to get the blusher and nail polish but I had to control myself.  I was actually thankful when the SA told me that everything was out of stock. At least, my wallet was happy.

I had a dream about the Pink Kiss lipstick though that same night.

I knew I had to have it.

I love light pink shades of lipsticks.  Second to Nude shade, light pink is a shade that I will always purchase and even hoard on when it comes to lipsticks.  I can never have too many light pink lipsticks. Never.  I really fell in love with Pink Kiss the moment I swatched it at the back of my palm.  It's just so pretty!

When I first saw it, I thought it's similar to my MAC Angel or Please Me.  If the lipstick is close enough to those two shades, then it already wins my heart.  When I got home, I took product shots of the lipstick and swatched it in comparison with my other favourite pink lipsticks.

Pink Kiss is slightly darker than MAC Angel and has a coral tinge to it while MAC Please Me is darker and more pink. I also tried to compare it with Lime Crime Babette to see how close the shades are.  If you can see, Babette is more opaque and looks pinkish beige.

Here's how Pink Kiss looks on my lips.  This is my usual no-makeup makeup avec le lipstick this time.

I love how it brings more colour to my face without it giving that "in your face" look if you get what I mean.  I wore this for one week straight and I can't get enough of it.  I even check my lips from time to time to see if there's still enough colour.

This lipsticks stays on for at least four hours on me even if I drink coffee in the morning.  There's a bit of transfer on my cup (which is almost always the case) but majority of the colour stays on like a clingy friend on my lips.  Since the shade is light pink, it doesn't look blotchy on my lips when the shade starts to face.  There's just light pink all over your lips that you can't seem to distinguish.  It doesn't settle on fine lines as its texture is satin, so that's a good thing.  If you have very cracked lips, apply lip balm and wait at least 5 minutes before you apply this lipstick.

For reference, my actual skin tone is like that of MAC NC20 although I sport 2 shades darker than my actual skin tone as I tend to look pale, borderline dead, when I don't put makeup on.  I think this shade has a limitation on who can pull it off.  This will suit those who have light to medium skin tones.

Pink Kiss is a limited edition lipstick which retails for PhP1,300.  The price is kind of hefty but I really wanted to try this on my lips so I bought it without batting an eyelash.  I got mine at Bobbi Brown Megamall.  They still have a few of the Uber Pink Collection there.

Let me know if you have this lipstick or other products from the Uber Pink Collection!  Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Follow me! Yes? No? Yey!
