YEAR-ENDER MAKEUP BLOG SALE! [CLOSED]

Due to lack of space at home, I decided to have another makeup blog sale.  I've already given away a lot of beauty products for donation but it doesn't seem like my vanity is becoming more spacious.  It actually still looks almost the same.  Beauty blogger problems, yes?

I'm trying to minimise space by making sure that 90% of the makeup that I am using will fit my Miss Bellas Large acrylic box.  It's quite a challenge actually.  Thus, another makeup blog sale!  A lot of the items are brand new and there are some that have been used (but not abused) and sanitised using So Clean and 99% alcohol!

I got invited to attend an event of Babyliss since they were about to launch their newest hair tool.  I immediately confirmed my attendance because I like the brand and I was curious what their new product is!

Well, well, well! It's no other than the Miracurl!

I'm pretty sure you've seen this already!

My Brush Set is Livin' A Charmed Life!*

Earlier this year, Charm Brushes released a new brush set which was double-ended.  Charm brushes are particularly known for their travel friendly brushes but when they released this brush set, it was just another set that any makeup enthusiast couldn't resist.  It's double ended so you're actually saving space by bringing less brushes.  It comes with a roll-up makeup brush holder, too, which is also perfect for travelling.  Just toss this inside your bag or luggage and your brushes are safe and sound!

It's just impossible not to resist these brushes.  IMPOSSIBLE.

Benefit Exclusive BDJ Box for November (2014)*

I didn't receive the October BDJ Box. So, when I got an e-mail about that the November BDJ Box was on its way to my doorstep, I couldn't be more excited.

And because I couldn't contain my excitement, I browsed to see if other Bellas have already posted their November BDJ Box.

Lo and behold, it's another Benefit exclusive box!  Most of the comments I've read were about frustrations about the box.  As for me, I was still excited to see mine!

Food Escapade at Mrs. Graham's Macaron Cafe

While working on my baptismal certificate, Lawrence and I decided to look for a cafe somewhere in Quezon City to make the trip worthwhile. After all, we're not always on this part of the Metro.

I've heard of Mrs. Graham's Cafe before and I thought it was somewhere in New Manila.  Thank goodness for Foursquare, we were able to find the cafe in a jiffy!

Macron Cafe, aye?

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pink Transformer

I have a love and hate relationship with primers.  Sometimes, they are so effective and other times, they are bleh.  It's probably the reason why I haven't tried a lot of primers.

But when I saw Maybelline's Baby Skin on the Maybelline counter, I.just.had.to.get.it I just had to.

So, it's supposed to make your skin glow in a pinkish kind of way.
Did it?

Food Escapade at Paul

It's been a routine to have coffee after eating regardless if I'm full.  Been wanting to try Paul for quite some time but I don't always go to SM Aura.

A few months back, I was finally able to try Paul!  It was their macarons that caught my attention! They have this huge macaron that costs PhP250 each.  I didn't order that though as I just bought a box of 6 of macarons before passing by Paul.

So, I tried something else on the menu.

Product Empties Volume 5

It's always a delightful feeling every time I finish a product.  Over the years, I have realised that I never really use too much product even if I think I do.  I still don't know why although I'm guessing it's because I don't want too much gunk (on my face, skin, and hair except for hair conditioner).

It's already mid-October and I'm guessing this is going to be my last Product Empties post for 2014.  Yep.  So, let's start shall we?

1. 4u2 Loose Face Powder, PhP189 - this is my 2nd loose powder from 4u2.  What I love about this product is that it gives me the coverage I need.  I'd say it can go from light to heavy depending on how much you will apply on your face.  This powder lasted a year on me.  I used it frequently then switched to other setting powders then went back to this again.  It comes in 3 shades and I use shade #2.

2. Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation, PhP1900 - this is also my second empty liquid foundation from Urban Decay.  I love using this foundation but had to stop using this when the bottle was already half empty because there's no Urban Decay here in Manila.  It's hard to get a hold of this so I had to alternate this with other other foundations that I have.  I use this on a daily basis and even for special occasions.  That's how much I love this product.  This is also my go-to foundation when I can't think of what look to pull.  A perfect base always sets the mood for makeup to be perfectly done, right?

3. Dove Hair Therapy Conditioner - I recently got a haircut almost a week ago.  Before having a haircut, my hair was below my waist.  It was that long.  No exaggeration.  I grew it that long so it would be easily styled on my wedding.  There's just so much you can do with a very long hair.  This conditioner was emptied faster that I thought. Although I'm guessing it's because of my uber long hair.  I love Dove hair products because they smell so good on my hair and the scent stays for a long time, too!  I don't know anyone who doesn't like Dove!

4. Belo Essentials AcnePro Facial Wash and Toner - These two products became my staple until I finished them.  I liked the effect it gave my skin ever since I started using it.  I'm thank for my Sample Room family for giving us first dibs on these products because even though it can be bought easily, the efficiency of the products aren't compromised.  I swear these products got rid of my zit on my chin.  It also lightened my dark spots!

5. Urban Decay Primer Potion - Well, these two primers actually dried up! Lol!

6. Snoe Beauty Shampoo and Conditioner, PhP599 each - I'm just glad I finally finished these hair products.  I can't stand its smell but I still used it because it's freaking PhP599 each.

That's it for my Product Empties!  Let me know if you also keep track of the products you finish. I'd love to know your thoughts.

Follow me! Yes? No? Yey!

Food Escapade at Department of Coffee

So, the third wave coffee shop craze continues.

We decided to go to Department of Coffee this time as it's just near the house. We were lucky when we got there because we were the only customers!

Look at their menu. Quite unique, huh?

Food Escapade at Local Edition

Ever since I got hooked on exploring 3rd wave coffee shops or any other coffee shop that isn't too mainstream, I make it to a point to visit them when I get the time.

While browsing the popular photos on my Instagram feed, I saw a photo of coffee cups.  I clicked on it and found out that there's a coffee shop that recently opened in Perea Street.

It's called no other than Local Edition. Mm-hmm.

The set-up actually reminds me of this hidden coffee shop in Hong Kong.

Happy 30th Birthday, Burt's Bees!

Last August 13, Burt's Bees celebrated its 30th birthday!  Honestly, I was shocked that Burt's Bees has been around longer than that!

A week before its birthday, I received an invitation from the Hive!  Look at the invitation below.  Simple yet unique!  Who would've thought to include an actual product on the invitation?!  Clever move.  You got me at hand salve, LOL.

Food Escapade at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao

Last month, I was in Hong Kong for a quick vacation.  One of the things in my to-do list was to eat out and have coffee left and right.

One night though, we were clueless on where to eat.  Since we were just in Harbour City, we decided to eat somewhere there and ended up at Crystal Jade.

How yummy is it at Crystal Jade?

Unboxing the August 2014 BDJ Box!*

When BDJ started posting teasers for their August box, I couldn't help but guess what the next surprise would be.  There was also a mention about the Golden Ticket winner given to 100 Bellas only!

When I got home last Saturday from errands, I saw a package from Xend and I had a gut feeling that it was the August BDJ Box!  I was right!

I opened the package and this is what greeted me:

Congratulations! I'm one of the 100 Golden Ticket Winners!
I must have done something great and good!

Food Escapade at Wicked Waffle

A few weeks ago, we ended up at SM Manila because we had a few errands to do within the area.  We decided to eat there instead. I was surprised to see that there are good selections of restaurants in SM Manila!

Since I was with my mom and Lawrence, I chose Wicked Waffle because all of us haven't tried it yet. Plus, the interior caught our attention!

New Beauty Clinic in the Block: Skin House!*

Last June, I got an invitation from Skin House to try their services.  I was given an option to try any of the following:

  • Laser Hair Removal using Gentlemax Pro
  • Venus Freeze (circumferential & cellulite reduction)
  • ITED Pixel Fractionated C02 (acne scars & stretch marks)
I got intrigued about Pixel Fractionated C02 and decided to try that because I have scars on my legs due to abnormal reaction to steroids.

One Saturday, I visited their clinic in Pioneer Center to meet with their Dermatologist.

Even from the outside, you'd know this clinic is very clean!

Food Escapade at PF Chang's

P.F. Chang is one of those restaurants I'll always remember because that's where I saw Mini Me (Mike Myers') about 20 years ago at their Beverly Center branch.

I've been waiting for them to branch out here in the Philippines and when they finally opened their first branch here in Manila, it was all the way from Alabang!  But it was too far from me until I totally forgot that they have a branch here.

Then one weekend, while we were killing time at Shangri-la Mall, we passed by PF Chang's! I couldn't believe it! I had no idea they opened their second branch already.  It was a no brainer so we had dinner here instead.

I asked the waiters and found out that they only opened that week.

What's good in P.F. Chang's?

Look Beauty Lip Smoothie

My lips are pretty moody.  Sometimes it's very chappy.  Other times, it's very hydrated.  This is why I always have lip balm with me. I gotta admit though that I still forget to apply lip balm religiously.  I'm just lazy like that LOL.

I was really into exfoliating last year.  When I saw Look Beauty's Lip Smoothie and realised it's a lip scrub, I immediately bought to see how this scrub will work on my lips.

Food Escapade at Guevarra's

On the verge of scheduling posts, I checked my drafts to see why I have 31 pending posts. Yes, 31. I don't know, it just piles up and piles up. Can you say beauty blogger problems?

If you've been visiting this blog for a couple of months now or even years, you'd know it's second nature that I post about food as well. I can't exact;y call myself a food blogger as I can't concretely and concisely describe the taste of food but I do like to take photos of food an dine at a new restaurant on a regular basis. Usually on weekends. It's probably gluttony but hey, I do like to try new restos even the hole-in-the-wall ones.

We all know Chef Lau because he's Chef Lau. Although honestly, I only found out about him during the Master Chef show in Manila.

KrisTV featured one of Chef Lau's new restaurants (well, it was new last year) named Guevarra's. I don't remember why it's called Guevarra's. Hmm, maybe because it's near or along P. Guevarra? Beats me.

My mom reserved tables the same day she saw the resto on TV. She was surprised to find out that the restaurant was fully booked for the next two weeks. It's the kind of restaurant where you can't really walk in. You have to make reservations way, way ahead. So, my mom made a reservation just in time when my aunts from the US were here as they sure love Filipino food.

So, what's exactly in Guevarra's?

BDJ Elite Box Featuring Heroine Make!

I'm probably the last person unboxing BDJ's latest Elite Box. I also think I'm the last one who has received the box. The box was delivered to me last week but since I was out of the country, I was only able to unbox it 6 days later.

When BDJ announced that they were going to release another Elite box, I got so excited because of what I saw. The anime reminded me so much of Sailor Moon. The second thing that came to my mind was those other Japanese makeup brands I usually see in Sasa.

Heroine Make. Heroine Make?

Pampering Time at Takshing Health Care and Beauty Center*

I received Takshing GCs from Sample Room last month.  It got me curious because it was the first time I've heard of Takshing and electrotherapy massage. Say what now?

I immediately searched on everyone's online best friend, Google.  Found Takshing's website and finally was able to get some clarity on electrotherapy massage.

What is electrotherapy massage exactly?

Foodie Friday

There are a lot of third-wave coffee shops opening around the Metro.  Athough it's not exactly a bad thing, sometimes you just can't keep up with all them coffee shops.  And I'm trying my best to visit every coffee shop.  I got this idea from a very good friend of mine!

I found out about Toby's Estate Coffee Roasters though on Instagram.  I was checking the photos that hit the popular page and I saw a photo that pretty much reminded me of NYC Subway only it's a coffee shop.  Yeh, it pretty much gives that vibe.  I clicked on the photo and location of the coffee shop.  What excited me more was that it's located inside a mall!  I went to that branch to see what's up but it was wrong timing as we just had early dinner and we were too full to even take anything.  Also, it's designed as a walk-thru coffee shop.  You basically have your coffee to go.

So, we visited their other branch located somewhere in Salcedo Village.

What's else could be on the menu of a coffee shop?

A Scent to Love: Clean Perfume

When I was younger, I used to have crushes on guys for the sole reason that they smell good. There's something about a scent of a person that draws me to them. This is not limited to living things only. I also have a bad habit smelling the food before tasting it. If I don't like the smell, I will not eat it.

So, you see, I have a thing for things (living and non-living) that smell good. This also means that I like to smell good all of the time. Yes, all of the time.

I'm one of those people who practically can not live without perfume or cologne. I've kind of grown out a bit of this habit but there are still days when I feel that something is missing just because I forgot to spray on some scent on my skin or clothes.

I always get questions about the perfume I wear. Sometimes, I tell people. Often times, I don't. I half-kid that it's my secret weapon (it kinda is though). I don't know, it's just that I think disclosing the perfume I use is too personal and I will have to answer the question Why. Okay, a little trivia here: I've been using men's perfume for the longest time. It's only when I started working that I slowly shifted to women's perfumes. So, now I thought of sharing with you one of the scents that I've been wearing lately. Just because.

Food Escapade at Franco's

A couple of Saturdays ago, my parents and I had lunch at Franco's.  My dad wanted to eat elsewhere but it was full and he didn't want to wait.  Franco's wasn't full yet so I was able to convince my dad.

I wanted to try this restaurant for the longest time because it's by Myron's Place and I love Myron's!!

What does Franco's have in store for us?

Pampering Time at Tips N' Toes

A few weeks ago, I was invited by Dang to the opening of Tips N' Toes Blue Bay branch.  I confirmed my attendance as I love Tips N' Toes.  You see, I like acrylic nails.  It was something very common back in high school.  When I moved back here, I had a hard time looking for a nail salon that offer acrylic nail service but Tips N' Toes has it.  So, yes, they had me at acrylic nails.

Something came up though that the venue was moved to Glorietta 5 branch which was better and easier for me as I no longer have to drive.  When I got there, I actually had not decided yet what service I'll try.  But I left Tips N' Toes super happy with my nails.

Acrylic nails, aye?

Well, you're just about to find out!

Food Escapade at Backyard Coffee

I saw a photo of a coffee yesterday on Instagram and there was a location that indicated "Backyard Coffee'.  I instantly clicked the name to see where it is located.  I was stoked to find out it's near my house so I decided to visit this new coffee place tonight.

I also tried to Google the coffee place but there was no posts about it yet aside from Pepper.ph mentioning that it opened last June 19 only.  Can't find the actual post about it though.

The place wasn't hard to find.  Actually, you can't miss it because there are a lot of establishments on the first floor. You can park on the basement and walk up to the 2nd floor.  The elevator ain't working at the moment.

Ah, a new coffee place to chill at.
Tickles my fancy.

Let's see what's Backyard Coffee has in store for us, coffee lovers!

Celeteque Hair & Scalp Care Clarifying Shampoo

Another hair care post. On a roll, aye?  Just a coincidence, love.

A few months ago, while I was going around SM department store, I chanced upon this new product of Celeteque.  I didn't know they have a shampoo.  When I asked the saleslady, she said the shampoo arrived about a week ago.  The saleslady said it's ought to clean your hair the way most shampoos can't, so I decided to try this.  It does not have a conditioner to pair with so I was kinda worried about that.

How did this shampoo fare?

Hair Shampoo and Conditioner from Snoe Beauty

I was on a Snoe Beauty product streak last year.  I've always been curious about the brand but I kind of wanted the rave to die down a bit before I try it.  Well, the rave didn't really waver.

After years of debating, I finally tried their hair products.  I think the salesladies in Cinderella and Landmark Makati were finally relieved that I finally bought the products.  I've been lurking on their stalls/kiosks for the longest time they already know me by first name. Ha!

Food Escapade at Celadon

Last week, KrisTV featured a Thai restaurant near our house.  My mom was able to watch the episode and wanted to eat there.  So, we went during lunch time.

Honestly,  I wasn't that excited because I an not a fan of Thai cuisine.  Most of the food is spicy and I don't like spicy food.

I had no clue what to order.

Pad Thai, PhP360.00

So, what do you think I ordered?
