I love food and I love to eat but I don't love spicy food. I just can't take it. I actually envy people who can eat spicy food. So, when my mom and I went to Bangkok, I was so worried on what to eat because the food there is spicy. I remember trying my luck at KFC and ordered the original chicken but it was still spicy. I wasn't able to finish my chicken.
My mom insisted that we eat at Black Canyon Coffee. She's been raving about this restaurant and has been telling me that they have the best Pad Thai ever. I couldn't be as estatic as she was because, well, Pad Thai is spicy. My mom won and we dined anyway.
True enough the food was great. I ordered pasta and it was good! It was a bit spicy but I just downed it with water cos I didn't really have a choice but to finish it.
Last week, my mom texted me that her favorite restaurant in Bangkok is now in Manila! She was even shocked upon finding out that it's been in Manila for more than a year! So, we went right away to have dinner!
I still wasn't as excited as she was. But I was curious to know if it tastes the same as the one in Bangkok.

I still didn't try their Pad Thai. Hahaha! Mom ordered it. According to my mom, it tastes exactly like their Pad Thai in Bangkok. Lawrence ordered the rib-eye steak and it was so good! The meat was tender, I love it! I ordered the shrimp with tamarind sauce. It was recommended by my mom. She was in Bangkok last month and ordered the same thing. It was also good. The taste of the tamarind sauce was perfect! Most of their serving is good for one person only especially if you are hungry. But rest assured that you will not leave the restaurant unhappy.
Of course, we couldn't leave without ordering coffee because that is what they're known for. We decided to order iced coffee instead of frapuccino. I ordered mocha iced coffee while Lawrence ordered the usual iced coffee since he was curious at the boot glass! Their coffee is strong but not too strong that you wouldn't be able to finish it.
I will definitely go back to this restaurant to try other dishes! Their service crew is nice and very approachable. When we went there last week, they were still on a soft opening. Today is their grand opening! So, if you have the time, dine here instead!
