Makeup for Beginners

Newbie in makeup and undecided on what makeup products to try?  Well, this post is perfect for you!

I made a video for ladies who are just starting to appreciate the beauty of makeup!  When I was just starting to collect makeup, I really had a hard time choosing what products to buy.  One of the main reasons was the fact that I didn't wanna spend much on makeup products that I have not tried yet.  I know it's a no-brainer to buy high-end makeup.  But at the that time, I was pretty much budget conscious.  So, I roamed around department stores looking for alternatives.  There were a lot of hits and misses.  More of misses actually.  But the products that I used here were the ones that I like and use until now.

So, I hope this video will help you on your makeup journey for those who are new to makeup!

Watch the video after the photos.

Products used:
NYC Skin Matching Foundation in Light/Medium
In2it brow powder
Maybelline Quad in Chic Neutrals
Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liner in Black
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara
NYC Bronzer in Sunny
Sleek Blusher in Pixie Pink

I Want To Be Part of Sample Room's Blogger's Circle

Let's admit it, it's always nice to try products without shelling out - most especially for people who are busy that they don't have the time to rummage around the mall to look for products to try out! It's much easier to browse and click at Sample Room!

This is my main reason for joining Sample Room's Search for Blogger Circle Members!  If you are chosen, you will be sent samples from time to time.  What a nice way to roadtest a product!  It will save me time from choosing between products at the malls!  This is also a good way for me to be familiar with other brands.  Since I do not always have the luxury (of time) to try different brands, I tend to stick to the brands that I have tried or choose from a brand that I am accustomed to.

Truth be told, I often browse at Sample Room but that ones that I want to try are always out of stock in a flash.  So, I hope I get chosen so I can have first dibs on products that are newly released at their site.  Cos hey, every girl wants to try before they buy =)

Makeup Brand Highlight: Virginia Olsen Minerals*

If there's a certain makeup that you must not miss trying, it's definitely mineral makeup.  As we all know, mineral makeup is on the safer side when it comes to its contents/ingredients.

I've been using mineral makeup since 2009.  There were months that I used purely mineral makeup.  I'm glad that I don't break out from using mineral makeup as there are some that still breakout from using it.

Last year, a new mineral makeup brand was launched in the Philippines.  It's no other than Virginia Olsen Minerals.  Beauty bloggers have raved about this brand for months.  I admit, I was very curious to try this brand as well because it was just everywhere.

So, imagine my excitement when Jirbie, VO's marketing manager, invited me to their office to try out their products.  I didn't think twice and said yes!  That invite was an intimate event with other beauty bloggers for their Holiday collection which was called Fantasy.  It was my first time trying VO's products.  They have several unique eyeshadows which will really make your eyes pop!  Personally, I was impressed with their gold eyeshadows and their makeup brushes.  The brushes are super soft, I tell you.

I didn't go home empty handed.  I came home with several products from Virginia Olsen and I've been using them since October.  And I know I still haven't made a post about their products.  The posts just haven't gone live yet but they are already in my drafts.

The photo below are the products that I received from Virginia Olsen.

mineral foundation in Goddess
mineral blush in Plum Cherry
hide-a-pore in Light
green tea primer in Medium
mineral eyeshadow in 24 Karat Gold
eco-eyeshadow brush

* products are part of the Press kit
