4u2 Cosmetics Dream Girl Touch Loose Powder

When I finally got a hold of 4u2 Cosmetics's BB Powder,  I also bought their loose powder to try out.  One of my realisations is that I prefer loose powder when setting liquid foundation.

I got the number 2 shade because I prefer a darker shade of face powder/foundation.

4u2 Cosmetics Dream Girl Touch Loose Powder
PhP194.00

loose powder on my face

Pros:
- very affordable at PhP194 only
- this product is alot although i don't remember how many grams this is
- has no weird scent
- blends well
- has a good staying power approximately 6 hours
- light to medium coverage
- keeps oil at bay for about 6 hours
- doesn't break me out

Cons:
- packaging looks cheap and too girly
- a bit bulky like most loose powders

I love this loose powder because it is able to even out the color of my skin tone when I am using my Missha BB cream.  The BB Cream that I am currently using is lighter than my skin tone.  And it doesn't help that is has a very high SPF which really gives me a white cast on flash photography.  But since this loose powder is lighter than my skin tone, it balances it out.

At certain times when I don't feel like putting too much makeup or wearing heavy foundation, I use this alone.  If you don't like the packaging, you can buy a sifter at the department store and just transfer it there.  I'm thinking of doing that so it would be handy.

I highly suggest this loose powder especially if you are on a budget.  I know I not that partial to drugstore makeup products, so when I really like something - I really really like it!  I have been using this for months since I got this!  I use this to set my BB Cream and my Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation.  They go well together, thankfully!

Experience at Crescens Spa

I received Two PhP1,000 GCs of Cresens Spa from SaladBox last November.  Honestly, this was probably the most worth it items included in the box.  I was contemplating between this and the Butter London nail polish but since the polish was fuchsia, this GC wins by default.

I received the box on the last week of November and the GCs were only valid until December 15 - roughly 2 weeks - which was fine with me.  The services they provide were typed in the GC.  So, I thought that maybe I'd just have the hot stone massage which was for PhP1,600 and maybe some other service that they offer to maximise the PhP2,000 GC.

My boyfriend went with me to the spa to accompany me and wait for me.  When we found the place, there was a signage on the entrance saying "hot stone massage for only PhP800" so I figured, my  boyfriend and I could both use the GC.  We went inside and told the lady at the cashier that we'd try the hot stone massage using the GC.  The lady said I can not use the GC to avail of the hot stone massage for PhP800 only since it was a promo.  She said if i were to use the GC, the regular rates apply!  Come on, why the heck would you have a promo like that?!  And GC is as good as cash dba!  So, I told the lady that I'd just use both GCs (worth PhP2,000) for the massage. You know just to save face and everything. I also said I'll let go of the PhP400 difference since they don't have anything else to offer other than the ones written on the "GC"s.  The lady then said that the GC is good for one transaction only so I can't use both just for me!  Also, I can not use the GC for their other services that is not written on the GC.

Eh, miss, GC ba talga to?  Cos it freaking sounds like a voucher to me!  Hindi na nga kagandahan yung overpriced spa nyo, sobrang dami pa ng terms and condition!

Since we were already there, and it was the last day to use the "GCs" we just went ahead and used it.  the lady even said, "ma'am PhP1,200 na lang naman po ang idadagdag nyo para sa inyo ni sir".  Err, excuse me, hindi pinupulot sa puno ang PhP1,200 iha.

I paid full for a service that was on 50% off.  Gosh, there is something terribly wrong with SaladBox and this spa!  Talk about false advertising!  It seemed like I just gave them GCs that were lost since the GCs were not of any value.  I was charged PhP1,600 for a service that was at that time being offered for PhP800 and we ended up paying PhP1,200.  PhP800 per person which makes our bill PhP1,600.  So, we only saved PhP400.  Tell me, where was the role of the GCs there?

Oh, and by the way - the service was mediocre and disappointing.  Our room was on the second floor.  They made us go down to take a shower on the first floor since the shower room was there.  Apparently, the shower room is just a make shift shower room.  It was like this built-in shower was inside the massage room.  So, what if there was someone inside having a massage?  What, we'd have to wait until that person is done so we can take a shower?  Another thing that annoyed me was their lack of hygiene.  Come on, it's a spa!  They don't even have slipper for the customers!  Lawrence walked up and down our massage room barefoot because he wasn't given slippers.  When I asked for slippers, the lady said the slippers were beside the bed on the floor.  I was sure there was none.  after taking a shower, the lady gave me a pair of slippers - Havaianas slippers with the Havaianas pininho pinned on the strap (which costs PhP1,350 the last time I checked).  It was the lady's freaking slippers!  Hindi ka ba naman lalong mainis nun!  But I couldn't bitch cos I was on my towel. Argh!

Bad experience, I tell you.

December 2012 SaladBox

I'll be straight to the point with this beauty subscription box.

This beauty is the worst box I have received so far.  For PhP500, you'll definitely make the company PhP500 richer, your wallet PhP500 poorer, and priceless disappointment from this box.

Of course, subscription boxes have kickbacks on the boxes they sell.  If they sell a box for Php500, the company gets the product for less than its suggested retail price in the market.  Or else, they would just be having a business that does not benefit them.  I mean come on, as the owner, nag-business ka primarily para kumita sa business mo at hindi para malugi lang.  The idea in theory was beautiful.  After all, SaladBox is the first beauty subscription service in the Philippines.  They were the niche here.  And I was hoping they'd do a great job.  But boy, oh, boy.

For PhP500, would you buy the products below?  Seriously?  I thought so.

The December box contains a full size Carmex lip balm (which they have also included in their November box), trial size mineral blush from Virginia Olsen, a mini nail polish from Ciate (which can not be seen on the photo because my box did not have one), sample size Alyssa Ashley perfume, Sophia Eyelash Enhancer GC (which is actually a voucher - don't be fooled by the words gift certificate), PhP300 GC for Urbanears, and several flyers.

Carmex lip balm - PhP109.75
Virginia Olsen mineral blush (trial size) - give or take around PhP50
5ml Ciate nail polish - PhP50
sample size Alyssa Ashley perfume - give or take around PhP100
shipping fee - PhP45

Seriously, for PhP500, those are the items you get.  Originally, the idea of a beauty box is for you to try the items without having to buy the full size or something like that and not filling it with GCs/vouchers. SaladBox should have just said, "our box contains several GCs which actually work as a voucher.."

For the Sophia eyelash enhancer, why would you use the GCs included when they're only valid for one month (January 2013)?  It retails for PhP2,750 and you can get it for PhP2,250 by using the GC.  If you use both and buy two, your total is PhP4,500.  But lo and behold, the product went on sale for buy 1 take 1 for PhP3,000 this January and now it's on sale for PhP999!!!!  So that GC is practically useless.  You also can not use both to purchase one eyelash enhancer.  GC is good as cash and does not have any limitations.  Once it has a limitation, it is called a voucher.  Not gift certificate.

For the Urbanears, you still need to make a purchase to be able to use the GC.  And 300 is not a substantial amount for a discount.  I have seen Urbanears and I was not impressed with their earphones/headphones.  I prefer Marshall, thank you very much.  And if ever I will be buying earphones/headphones, it won't be from Urbanears.

The fact that you need to make a purchase to be able to use the items included in the box is really irking.  Halatang nang-taga lang and beauty box na ito.  I know it's the purpose but have at least the decency to not make it that obvious.

So there. That's how good the items that SaladBox includes in their box.  Very enticing, right?

To those that still believe in this box, good luck.  That's all I say.  SaladBox has disappointed me from the first box that I received from them.  Their customer service is not very accomodating, too.  Their turn around time is too long.  Sometimes, they do not even bother replying to queries at all.  They are selective when it comes to replying to queries.  Quite frankly, the answer "not replying to your query was unintentional.." is not ever acceptable.  Haller, naka-reply sila sa ibang queries ng mga tao after my inquiry pero my inquiry was ignored.  It's just impossible not to see it.

Want Longer Lashes?

Admit it, you want your lashes to be naturally long. So long that people will find it hard to believe that you aren't wearing false eyelashes or false eyelash extensions!  I'm one of those females who is not gifted with naturally long lashes.  My lashes are so sparse that even with mascara on, they still do not look long and they definitely still lack volume.

Thanks to science that lashes can now grow longer than usual.  With that, I would like to introduce Sophia Eyelash Enhancer!  This product was brought by Virginia Olsen.

As you can see from the photo, the product retails at PhP2,750.  Right now it is on sale for PhP999 only!  More than 50% off!  I haven't gotten the chance to try this product yet but I've seen the results on other people that have tried this product.  It's really promising!

I'm planning to get one for myself soon.  I just hope that they don't run out of stock easily.  So, if you want one, better order now before it's sold out!
