November 2012 Salad Box

My Salad Box for November arrived last Tuesday.  When I saw the box on the dining table, I didn't feel any excitement at all.  My initial reaction was, "wow, it finally arrived cos it's almost December!"

If there's one thing I don't like about beauty subscription boxes is the fact that it is sent out on the last week of the month.  IMHO, it should be sent out during the first week of the month.  So there could be a verdict on the beauty products before the month ends.  But no.

November Theme: From Hair to Heels

Alyssa Ashley perfume sample
Carmex lip balm
Butter London nail polish
Sakura Foot Lotion
Sakura Hand Lotion

For PhP500, that is what you get my friends.  The nail polish is supposed to cost PhP600++.  But I wouldn't even pay a peso for that shade!  There's just nothing unique about the shade.  The rest of the products are blah.  Without the nail polish, everything in the box is less than PhP500.

This box is really disappointing.  I don't even know why I bothered posting this.

Ombré Hair!

I've been contemplating on dying my hair light for awhile now.  Initially, I wanted to dye my hair dirty blonde but he maintenance for that color is going to be costly if I want to maintain it for a long while.

Then this year, ombré hair suddenly became a hit.  So, I figured.. might as well try having an ombré hair first.

I ended up going to Vivere Salon to get my hair done.  Luckily, they know how to do the ombré hair.  They asked me what color I wanted on the lowest layers for my hair.  I really wanted light blonde but because I work in a bank, I don't think the color is suitable for work.  So, I chose dark blonde or iced cappuccino.

Photos below are the outcome of my hair.

They also styled and curled my hair that night for that more dramatic look.  But it was gone as soon as I washed my hair the next morning.

I should practice curling my hair more for that dramatic look. Haha!

Unboxing the First BDJ Box!

I am so lucky and privileged to be one of the first to receive the BDJ Box!  As mentioned on my previous post, BDJ Box invited me for their launch last month.

So, let's start the unboxing!  The photo below is the actually BDJ Box.  I think the size is like an A5 paper. When my BDJ Box was handed to me, I was like, "OMG, ang bigat nya!"  I waited to get home until I opened my box.

October's theme was Parisian Pretty

Products included in the box

9 kinds of beauty products in one box!

Referring to the last photo above, you can see that you will really get your money's worth with the BDJ Box.  A box costs Php480 only and it's the cheapest subscription box in the market.

I highly recommend BDJ Box because all the products that are in the box are worth it.  There is no single product that I do not like.  Some people said that the products are too commercialized - which is true.  But for instance, I haven't tried the L'Oreal hair therapy until I received it in my box!  Not because it's too commercialized, it doesn't mean that everyone has tried the products already.  That's why I think there's no hit and miss in this box.

Watch the video below to hear my thoughts about each beauty product!

Disclaimer:  All thoughts are based on my opinion regardless if I received the product for free.

Try Before You Buy - Sample Room

I think you will all agree with me that there are products that you want to try so bad but always end up not buying it out of fear that it will not work on you.  This always happens to me believe it or not.

This is why I was so elated when I found out that Sophie will be launching the Sample Room!  I also think that the timing is perfect because subscription boxes are this quarter's fad!

The Sample Room is not exactly like that of a beauty subscription box.  What you get are samples of the beauty products you want to try FOR FREE! Yes, FOR FREE!!  Find out below how it works and how it differs.

That said, I can't wait for Sample Room to finally go live!  I want to try as many products as I could!

Sample Room is launching really really soon.  So you better start signing up now at sampleroom.ph!!
