Camaru Naturals Bamboo Charcoal Clarifying Soap

One of the products I received from Salad Box is an organic soap from Camaru Naturals.  I've heard of this brand from Martha's blog but I was never really keen on trying it - or anything organic for that matter.  I think "organic" products are just a fad just like that Argan Oil.  So I gave them all a pass.

But since I received my first ever organic product, might as well try it since it's already paid anyway.

The Charcoal Soap promises to lighten skin and lessen pimples/acne with continuous use.  It promises.

I started using this yesterday and on my goodness, my skin started to itch right after taking a shower!  It was so itchy I had to scratch it!  My skin felt so dry that I had to use lotion to keep my skin moisturized.  FYI, my skin is moisturized as is without using any moisturizing lotion.

I sweat to all the gods, ang kati nya lang talga!  But I gave this product a benefit of the doubt that maybe it was the bedsheet that made my skin itchy and not the soap.  Just like what Salad Box said, "it's organic, need we say more?" Whatever that meant.

I used it again this morning and my skin was more itchy than yesterday!  Nakakabwisit lang early in the morning when you're trying to look your best but no, the itch just had to ruin it.

If you're planning to try this product, please take my word for it - DROP IT.  I've read some posts about this product and they all said the same thing - that it's itchy and made their skin dry.  However, some of them waited until they get some results.

I know there's this saying 'tiis ganda' but I won't apply that saying to this product.  I just won't sacrifice feeling itchy early in the morning to have lighter skin after a weeks of use.  Seriously, would you?

Please save your skin from using this product.

Kthanksbye.

  1. Good to know. I was contemplating on trying that but I'm not going to take my chances as I have irritatingly sensitive skin. Your review was very helpful.

  5. thanks GEMS for this~ and I totally agree you on the so-called "organic". I think its just part of marketing clan when brands tends to quote themselves as 100% natural & organic! bleh~ organic is NOT equal to safe! I'll just stick to my chemical products as it works great on me without giving me bad encounter~
