Camaru Naturals Bamboo Charcoal Clarifying Soap

One of the products I received from Salad Box is an organic soap from Camaru Naturals.  I've heard of this brand from Martha's blog but I was never really keen on trying it - or anything organic for that matter.  I think "organic" products are just a fad just like that Argan Oil.  So I gave them all a pass.

But since I received my first ever organic product, might as well try it since it's already paid anyway.

The Charcoal Soap promises to lighten skin and lessen pimples/acne with continuous use.  It promises.

I started using this yesterday and on my goodness, my skin started to itch right after taking a shower!  It was so itchy I had to scratch it!  My skin felt so dry that I had to use lotion to keep my skin moisturized.  FYI, my skin is moisturized as is without using any moisturizing lotion.

I sweat to all the gods, ang kati nya lang talga!  But I gave this product a benefit of the doubt that maybe it was the bedsheet that made my skin itchy and not the soap.  Just like what Salad Box said, "it's organic, need we say more?" Whatever that meant.

I used it again this morning and my skin was more itchy than yesterday!  Nakakabwisit lang early in the morning when you're trying to look your best but no, the itch just had to ruin it.

If you're planning to try this product, please take my word for it - DROP IT.  I've read some posts about this product and they all said the same thing - that it's itchy and made their skin dry.  However, some of them waited until they get some results.

I know there's this saying 'tiis ganda' but I won't apply that saying to this product.  I just won't sacrifice feeling itchy early in the morning to have lighter skin after a weeks of use.  Seriously, would you?

Please save your skin from using this product.

Kthanksbye.

Limitless: BDJ 2012 Fair

Two weeks ago, I attended BDJ 2012 Fair held at SM MOA Music Hall. It was my first time to attend BDJ's event!

I would have gone with my girlfriends. But I went with my fiance instead since he is also my girlfriend (or at least he tries to be just for good laughs).  There were a lot of people at the BDJ of all generation! I was actually surprised to see mothers and grandmothers enjoying themselves  at the make-over, photbooth, etc.

On the left side of the entrance was BDJ wall.  I just had to take a photo of me with the wall as my background.  BDJ reminds me so much of Hed Kandi and this is why I initially liked BDJ.

with my loot bag! Too many freebies inside!
It was heavy ha! =)

and of course, I just had to leave a note =)

Where to, surfer girls?

a Roxy baller was included inside the loot bag

I had a good time at the BDJ Fair!  Lawrence and I wanted to try Tarot reading but there was a really long line and I was really getting thirsty.  The loot bag included a C2 drink, Kitkat bar, and chips so we muched on that.  There were also back issued of Cosmopolitan magazines, Skin White toner, and a lot more!

I also got my BDJ 2013 planner on that day!  Thanks to Em of BDJ!

I am excited to use my planner already!  Lots of inpirational notes inside the planner.. and the coupon? Can I just wow?  BDJ coupons never fail to disappoint!  I am excited to use them as well!

So, girls grab your BDJ 2013 planner now!

Unboxing Saladbox (October 2012)

My SaladBox finally arrived last Monday!  I've been waiting for his box for almost a month!  I thought the box would come on the first week of the month.  As it turns out, boxes are shipped on the third week of the month.  I don't know, it kinda seems weird to me cos you actually have less than a month to review what's inside the box.

But what is SaladBox anyway?  It's a beauty subscription (for PhP500 monthly) wherein you will receive a box every month containing about 4-5 beauty products.  You wouldn't know what is inside until you actually receive yours.  So, expect to be surprised and probably a bit disappointed at the same time (if you don't like the products you receive). However, the products that will be sent to you is also based on the your answers from their questionnaire.  SaladBox is the first beauty subscription service in the Philippines.

So what's inside my SaladBox this October?

Love that mint green color!

total of 8 products inside!

List of the products inside my SaladBox

Virginia Olsen Mineral Eyeshadows

BC Spiced Fig Tea room Spray

Camaru Naturals Bamboo Charcoal Soap

Sakura Foam Hand Sanitizer

Black Beauty Shampoo (sachets)

I subscribed to SaladBox because I've always liked the idea of a beauty subscription service.  This isn't actually a new idea.  It's been happening for awhile in the USA.  I've also seen a lot of makeup gurus on YouTube showing what they receive monthly.  There's Jewelmint, Ipsy, to name a few.

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with my first SaladBox.  The only product that got me excited when I first opened it was the Virgina Olsen mineral eyeshadows BUT the colors given to me killed my excitement.  I'm not partial to the colors.  I will probably use it for video tutorials only.  But let's see how the colors will fare on my skin.  I've seen the shades that other people received and they received better and more wearable shades.  I'm thinking that the foam hand sanitizer will be useful to me on my trip to Korea and Hong Kong this year.  It will certainly come handy.  But then again, I could also just bring an alcogel that's more handy (size speaking) than the foam hand sanitizer.  The organic soap is blah.  I'm not really in dire need to try a new soap.  But I'm forcing myself to use the soap any day now just because I don't wanna add it up on the things that I haven't used until now.  But it's organic, so it should be good, right?  The room spray and shampoo sachets were definitely a miss.  Seriously, that little for a room spray?  I don't even think it would be enough to give my room that aroma that it's promising.  And for the shampoo, really a sachet?  That only costs PhP10-15!  If I try to add everything that I received, it seems to me that they are worth less than PhP500 or even Php455 (less the shipping fee).  Maybe that's why they include two bottles of the foam sanitizer.

I said on my Unboxing video that I will review the products before the month ends.  But after giving it some thought, I probably won't.  If you don't see any reviews of the products here on my blog, then I probably didn't like it.

Here's to hoping that November's SaladBox is going to be way better than October's!

Watch my unboxing video if you like!

Heels as Document Stopper?

I wore these heels today at work.  There were several dagger looks again (I have another pair in black and use it at work as well).  But oh well.

Truth be told, these heels are comfortable to walk in.

And just because I couldn't take a decent photo of me wearing them, I put it on top of my documents. haha!

A new document stopper, perhaps?

Amethyst Smokes Makeup Video Tutorial

Last month, I finally uploaded a video on how I use my Maybelline Stylish Smokes Quad.  I am currently loving these quads because they are handy and compact!  Such a good buy!

I will post my review about the quads on a separate post.  But for now, let me show you how I usually sport purple eyeshadows!
