4u2 Cosmetics Dream Girl Faith BB Cream

If my memory serves me right, it was around 2009 when BB cream was the talk of the town.  Every girl wanted to have one and Skinfood's BB cream was always sold out.  BB creams use to sell around PhP1,000++ and they sold like hot pancakes.  You are lucky if you are able to find a BB cream that is about PhP500++.  Then later on, BB creams were everywhere.  Prices got cheaper, too.

I started doubting when the prices got cheaper.  You never know, they might just label it BB cream when it's just tinted moisturizer.  Plus, you can never be sure about the chemicals that are in it.

The last BB cream that I used was the one from MAC.  It was okay.  I would have probably stock up on it if it didn't make my face whiter.

I've been searching for 4u2 Cosmetics BB powder since July and it was always out of stock.  I was able to look at the variety of cosmetics that they offer - and lo and behold, they have BB cream for PhP194.00 only!

I was sold at the price although honestly I had low expectations on it.  If you read my blog, you'd see that I'm not a fan of cheap makeup.  I'd rather spend than save because of fear of the chemicals that are used on cheap makeup.  But I bought it anyway because I've been hearing a lot of good things about the brand.

BB cream on my face

I've been using this for almost a month now and I like it.  It gives sheer coverage so this is perfect for days when I'm too lazy t put on makeup but don't want to look pale either (with matching dark spots or even skin tones).  It does even out my skin tone a bit although it doesn't cover up my dark spots. I still need to use concealer.  If you look at my under eyes, it obviously needs concealer.  It makes my skin a bit lighter but not lighter wherein it looks fugly.  I actually think it gives my skin a TAD glow - emphasis on tad.

Pros:
- affordable
- locally available
- easy to apply
- has a nice scent
- feels light on skin

Cons:
- one comes n one shade
- cream is a bit runny
- can make you face a bit oily by end of day
- can not conceal dark spots or obvious discoloration on your face
- packaging looks too cheap
- it doesn't say what a BB cream is supposed to do to your face
- didn't improve the blemishes that I have
- didn't lessen my blemishes either

I've come to the conclusion that I like this because this feels and acts more like a tinted moisturizer than a BB cream.  So, thinking about it now - I think this product was mislabeled.  But I'd probably buy one again once I ran out of it just for those days when I don't feel like putting on makeup.

Happy Tuesday, loves!

  1. I have been seeing this a lot of bloggers reviewing this bb cream and most of them quoted that it is indeed quite sheer on the coverage. I think I'll just skip this as I prefer a tad more coverage. But great review anyways ^_~

  2. I noticed we have the same ring. Is that engagement ring also?

  3. Meh pass. Thanks for the review! I'd rather only use sunscreen.
